Thanks to a selection of several 1,000 recipes, as well as continuous product developments, we can offer and deliver tailor-made solutions to our customers in a short timely manner.

Environmental

Sustainability and ecological thinking and acting are not current trends, but part of our corporate philosophy.

In the elastomer world, the manufacture of silicone and fluorosilicone rubber compounds is one of the industrial productions with an already very efficient use of energy and a correspondingly low energy consumption. Nevertheless, we have been using our energy resources carefully and sustainably since several years.

The product range of silicone and fluorosilicone rubbers belongs to the sustainable elastomer product categories. Due to their very pronounced aging stability, they can often be used for decades. This longevity of our products means that end products can be used longer. This in turn reduces the amount of waste and conserves resources.

Furthermore, silicone elastomer products are becoming increasingly important for alternative mobility concepts in current and future vehicles. Here we work very closely with engineers and developers from the vehicle industry in order to be able to help shape these concepts effectively in the future with functional and innovative products.

History

We are aware of our almost 20-year successful history. Change, dynamism and new things have always accompanied us, especially recently. Change is part of our corporate philosophy.

SILCOMP Silikoncompounding GmbH was founded on January 1st, 2003 in Osterode (Harz) and continued as a joint venture between KKT Holding and Polymer-Technik Elbe GmbH from mid-2004. In February 2005, SILCOMP acquired the silicone business of Safic Alcan, renamed from now on as SILCOMP France SAS (http://silcompfrance.fr/en/).

On December 1st, 2012, Polymer-Technik Elbe GmbH (PTE) took over the shares of KKT Holding and has been 100% shareholder of the SILCOMP Group since then. The headquarters of the company as well as the production were relocated to Lutherstadt Wittenberg, the HQ location of PTE on January 1st, 2014. The synergy with Polymer-Technik Elbe GmbH resulted in and continues to result in a wide range of opportunities for the further development of the group of companies.
